Welcome to a journey of a thousand pieces.
A little bit about Tanya…
How did I get involved in Mosaics? My journey started over a septic tank….really! A local community project saw me assisting in creating a mosaic cover for the lid of a septic tank to beautify something that would otherwise be quite unsightly. As I progressed in the project and learned the techniques, the whole thing became a passion and I was hooked.
From those early beginnings, my journey has led me through developing an entrance to a retreat house to re-using discarded satellite dishes and turning them into a thing of beauty that could adorn walls, gardens and homes. I found a ready market for these dishes and was able to sell them to a leading gallery and environmental centre.
I then wanted to pass these skills on to others and began teaching Mosaics in 2018. Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching more than 300 students, some of whose work is pictured in the ‘Gallery’ on this website. It has been an exciting journey and I would love you to join me in this journey and passion.
